RP(Qualifying) Registered Psychotherapist

Olivia Warnock Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) , passionate triathlete and cat lover.

As a collaborative psychotherapist I provide a non judgemental and inclusive approach to counselling. My therapeutic style can be described as warm, fluid, and informative, and draws on a person-centered approach. Additionally, my therapeutic practice incorporates a trauma-informed lens, some aspects of CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. Through this multifaceted approach I seek to support folks with the tools that they need to become the most authentic and healthy versions of themselves. Moreover, I strive to honour diversity, and be an ally for all races, genders , sexualities and faiths.

In a time where we feel evermore disconnected from others, it can be difficult to find the support we need to keep moving forward. I hope to provide you with non-judgmental and empathic space to share your story, and to build a connection where you feel seen, heard, and supported. It is my belief that through building these connections, we allow ourselves the space to slow down and reconnect with the thoughts, emotions, and sensations that can so often be put to the side while we focus instead on making it through the day.

My approach within sessions comes from a trauma-informed perspective, with emphasis on mindfulness, self-compassion, ACT, and CBT techniques. In using this integrative approach, I work collaboratively with youth, adults, and couples to look deeper beneath the surface and explore how their actions and behaviours can bring them closer to their mental health goals.

While taking the time to look deeper within ourselves, I feel it is important to acknowledge the skills that have allowed us to make it this far in our journey. It has taken strength to make it to the point where you feel you can reach out for help, a feat that is not easy. I want to acknowledge the work that you have already done, and I would be honoured if you allowed me to continue with you on this journey.

As a supervised registered psychotherapist, qualifying with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and a member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, I facilitate therapy at a pace that suits each client. This client-centered approach is further strengthened by my use of therapies that focus on the whole person – mind, body, emotion, and spirit – an integrated approach that provides each client with tools and skills that build resilience.

Passionate about providing effective help, I have added a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies and Integrative Body Psychotherapy to my professional toolkit. Clients have expressed their gratitude for my warmth and connection, and non judgement, as well as practical assistance on the path to healing.

Seeking help to navigate life’s challenges takes vulnerability and courage. A qualified therapist provides clarity, sharing perspective, and the gift of guidance. I offer flexible appointments with some weekend availability. It would be an honour to work with you on your path of personal progress.

Therapy is an opportunity to explore and let go of the things that no longer serve you. My area of specialization is substance use and concurrent disorders. I have worked as a counselor since 2003 which includes experience as an Addictions Counselor at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and most recently as a Program Director in a private addiction treatment facility. I have had the honour of seeing the transformation of thousands of people. I know recovery isn’t just a possibility, it is a reality. I also help people struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, burnout and other life transitions. I primarily work at helping clients generate compassion for themselves. When we heal our relationship with ourselves that paves the way to transforming our lives. In close collaboration with my clients, I tailor my approach based on my clients needs meeting my clients where they are at. The modalities I use are a mixture of Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation techniques, and CBT.

When I am not working I am spending time with my daughters, playing volleyball, fishing camping and renovating.
